THE MICHIGAN DAILY U U IUUNUI lIUN TO1ASSIST ARTISTS CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED TO RAISE $1,000,900 SUM FOR MEMORIAL Announcement is made by the Car- - uso American Memorial Foundation of New York City of the launching of a campaign to raise $1,000,000 to be used for annual musical scholarships and prizes as a permanent memorial to Enrico Caruso and his art. A list of the committee to take care of this foundation, which is too long fori publication, is announced and includes some of the highest names in today's musical, political, and financial worlds. It is pointed out in the announcement that the need for such a fund has become so great that many young musicians have been seriously and sometimes permanently handicapped by financial difficulties. It is the aim of the foundation to provide help for all young American singers and musicians, regardless of sex, race, or creed. The, awards will be made by a board of recognized authorities.
