Like the Saints of Yore
the couple promenaded Fifth Avenue barefoot,
but religion was not the cause. It was something right-up-to-the-min-
ute, crucial, hectic. Their aim was to kill the shoe trust and set an
example to the people. And they were dressed to kill, the man in
taxedo, the woman in fineries. How the shoe reformer found him-
self beaten by falling in love with the daughter of the "shoe. trust"
provids one of the most entertaining picture offerings of the year.
