Dr. M. A. Blankenhorn of Cleveland
Will be the first speaker on the Under-
class Medical society lecture pro-
gram. His lecture on "Milky Ascites"
will be given Friday, March 24, and
will be followed by a discussion in
the nature of a forum by the Michigan
faculty. Dr. Blankenhorn is doing re-
search work under Dr. C. F. Hoover,
professor of Medicine at Western Re-
serve university.
Dr. Hugh Cabot is communicating
this week with Dr. Will Mayo, of
Rochester, and Dr. Edward L. Keyes,
an eminent genito-urinary surgeon, of
the Cornell medical, school in New
York city, for later lectures. At least
one additional program will be sched-
uled, one (by a man interested in the
academic side of anatomy and histo-
logy for the special benefit of the
freshmen. Nearly 100 per cent of
the students havesubscribed to mem-
bership in the society,
ANN ARBOR LIKES CONCERTS
OVER WIRELESS TELEPHONE
As evidence of the sweeping popu-
larity of radio since the introduction
of the wireless telephone are the many
concerts that are being given in all
parts of the city. Private as well as
public sets are catching lectures and
concerts constantly and in many cases
amplifiers, are beingused so that the
sounds may be greatly magnified.
Each night the Detroit News sends
out entertainments consisting of lec-
tures and musical numbers, including
the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Thursday night, March 9, Walter
Scanlan sang his latest hit "Irish
Eyes," which he will sing at the
Whitney, March 18. This was heard
clearly by the. large set of Eberbatch
and company, at a meeting of the
Conopus. club at the Union.

All employees on the University
staff, with the exception of the mnem-
bers of the faculties and those em-
ployed in clerical work, injured while
performinig their duties are eligible
for compensation, in accordance with
the workmen's compensation act of
the state of Michigan.
At many times, especially when
some edifice is under construction
when the workmen are employed di-
rectly by the University, and not by
some contractor in charge of con-
struction, as many as 400 men are
employed and must receive compen-
sation for any injuries received dur-
ing their work for the University.
To provide for this, the Board of
Regents has,insured its liabilities with
an insurance company which takes
charge of the payment of all com-
'pensations for injuries to the Univer-
sity men.
