"A" and "B" purchased automobiles
of the same make on the same day.
E "A" was ignorant of the construction
of his machine. It was, therefore,
neglected. Ignorance and its invary-
ing accompaniment, neglect and care-f
lessness, soon put his automobile on
r- the "scrap heap." "B," on the other
ty hand, understands automobiles. He
a- knows that it must be inspected and
ne overhauled frequently. As a result of
"B's" knowledge and care of his ma-
tschine, it is as good as new. It prom-
ed ises to' be of excellent service for a
ed long time. to come.
nk Let us think of our bodies as ma-
ed chines. Does the "human scrap heap"
stare you in the face or do you want
s- your body machine to function per-
se fectly for an indefinite period to come?'
an Knowledge of the 'internal workings,"

NEW SPAPERCOLLECTIOIN
DONATES PAPERS TO UNIVERSITY
AS SUPPLEMENT TO ORIf-
INAL GIFT
As a supplement to his original do-
nation of American newspapers to the
University, Regent W. L. Clements, of
Bay City, has purchased an additional
collection, consisting chiefly of New
England papers, with a considerable
representation of New York and Penn-
sylvania publications.
The papers, purchased from the
American Antiquarian Society, at
Worcester, Mass., are chiefly weeklies,
dating fr-om aproximately 1800 to
1840. A few are of the 18th century.
The supplementary collection has
arrived at the. general library, but for,
lack of space will not be unpacked at
present, and will not be available for
usl until the new Cjements library
building is opened.'
Overcoats and other articles of per-
sonal property continue to disappear
from the Library, due to the failure
of students to care for their belong-
ings while studying. The latest one
lost, a $45 overcoat, was reported
missing yesterday. It had been ,re-
moved from one of the hooks in the
men's coat room, off the lower corri-
dor.
Librarian. W. W. Bishop emphasizes
that the Library cannot be responsible
for coats which are hung on hooks in
open places or left where they can be
removed by others.
,Students are reminded that there
are .more than 300 lockers provided
for their use on the first floor, to the
left of the amain entrance. These are
free to all,, with the provision that
each user must furnish his own pad-
lock.
Over night, and while not in, use
duiring the .day, lockers must pe left
open.

chine. It wants Positive Health. Ar-
rangements have been made, whereby
all students in the University are ex-
pected to present themselves at the
Health Service each year for physical
examinations-inspection and over-
hauling. Notwithstanding that special
appointments are being made with stu-
dents for these examinations, nrany
fail to respond. Such carelessness, on
the part of these indifferent and negli-
gent stu~dents "points to" an early
breakdown.-
