A vocal solo by Kemp Keena, '20, a saxophone solo by Myron T. Chon, '23, a violin solo by Bertrand H. Bronson, '21, and a song specialty by Ransom M. Sherman, '23, consti- tute the individual musical numbers.1 Glee Club to Perform The Glee club quartette, composed of Paul Wilson, '23L, Kemp Keena, '20, Albert F. Schirmer, '22E, and Thomas Underwood, '23L, will sing. Besides] the Varsity sextette, who will enter- tain on guitars and other string instru- ments, there will be an orchestra with George H. Roderick, '21E, at the piano. Tuxedos will be worn by those who attend the reception. The visiting del- egates to the Journalistic convention:. will appear in tuxedos at the track meet and at the Union later. Out of courtesy to them, those who plan to come to the reception are asked to wear tuxedos to the meet as wdll as at the Union. GENERAL WOOD WILL ACCEPT PENNSYLVANIA PRESIDENCY Major General Wood, commander of the Chicago Corps area of the army, will accept the position of president of the University of Pennsylvania up- on his return from a tour of investi- gation of the Philippines, during which he is to determine if the is- lands are qualified to receive their in- dependence. It is understood that General Wood will receive a salary of $25,000 a year as the head of the university, an amount far more than the highest salary paid in the army service. General Wood will be per- mitted to retire from the army,. at his own request, on the basis of service rendered. Stanley, of the University School of Music, will be a feature of the Fac- ulty concert at 3 o'clock Sunday after- noon in Hill auditorium. This suite has been played several times before Ann Arbor audiences and has always met with approval. It will be played by Albert Lockwood and Samuel Lockwood. Clara Lundell, pianist, and Samuel Lockwood, violinist, will contribute the remaining numbers, including works of Schumann, Liszt, Saint-Saens and Chopin. The accompaniments for Mr. Lockwood will be played by Mrs. Maud Okkelberg.
