RECORO SEAT SilE FOR
ILLINOISSAME LIKELY
With more than 15,500 seats already
reserved the prospects for a record
attendance at Michigan's opening Con-
ference game of the season with Illi-
nois next Saturday are of the best.
The entire force of the athletic office
is busy from morning till night in
handling the requests for reservations
that do not cease to flow in. Director
Bartelme is firm in the belief that
every seat will be sold and he is mak-
ing extensive preparations to handle
an overflow with the erection of tem-
porary bleachers at the east and west
ends of Ferry field. This has been
done in the past with considerable
success and it will be necessary to
continue the policy until the comple-
tion of the stadium.
That all the noise making will not
be confined to the Michigan rooters
in the south, stand is evinced by the
fact that the Indians have arranged
for the reservation of 500 seats for
their students, and in addition hun-
dreds of their alumni are expected
from all over the country. The con-
test will be the western classic of the
week and on its outcome rests largely
the future success of the gridiron
warriers of the two schools. A Mich-
igan victory would mean much to the
supporters of the Maize and Blue and
many think it not at all improbable.
