C. has received communi- cations regarding Army commissions from the' chief ordnance and signal corps officers, outlining the advan- tages of service in those two branches. "Vacancies exist in all branches and I am receiving applications for any of them," said Major Arthur. "The in- fantry has 800 vacancies, the field ar- tillery 600, the air service 400, the coast artillery 300, and other branches less. A number of applications have already been received. The preliminary board will hold its first meeting during the first week of April inrthe R. O. T. C. offices. Other meetings will be held when necessary. Chinese Test Christan Religion A trial of Christianity and its real value is being made by Chinese stu- dents of the University of Chicago by means of questionnaires sent out to men interested in the Christiai re- ligion. It is an attempt to discover the objects and reality of Christian belief and whether it is socially and ethically justifiable.
