Lucrezia Bori, celebrated Spanish soprano of the Metropolitan Opera company, and Orville Harrold, a dis- tinguished American tenor of the same organization, will take the places of Luisa Tetrezzini and Tito Schipa, who have been prevented from filling their Ann Arbor engagements on account of the fact that they are to sail from this country early in May. Voices Much Praised Mr. Harrold will appear in a mis- cellaneous program Wednesday even- ing and Miss Bori in the same capa- city Friday evening, each singing sev- eral of their favorite arias. Mr. Har- rold's voice is said to have great power, clearness and beauty and crit- ics refer to his performances in glow- ing terms. Miss Bori returned to this country last year and since then .she has been heard to splendid advantage. Many Artists Coming Other artists who will appear at the festival are: Rosa Ponselle, Flor- ence -Hinkle, Grace Johnson-Konold, sopranos; Cyrena Van Gordon and Merle Alcock, contraltos; Charles Marshall, Lambert Murphy, tenors; Arthur Middleton, Theodore Harrison, Chase Sikes, Robert McCandliss, bari- tones; Gustaf Holmquist, bass; Fanny Bloomfield-Zeisler, pianist; Albert A, Stanley, Frederick Stock, George Os- car Bowen, conductors; the >Univer- sity Choral Union (300 voices), a chorus of several hundred school chil- dren and the Chicago Symphony Or- chestra. Mendelssohn's "Elijah" an Verdi's "Aida" will be performed by the adult chorus while the children's chorus will perform a work especiall3 written by Earl V.
