Burton will ad- dress the meeting of the alumnae council of the Alumni association of the University of Michigan, to be held on Saturday, Jan. 15, with, headquart- ers at the Union room 316. Dean Myra B. Jordan will present a paper on gen- eral conditions of women at the Uni- versity. Drs. Edward D. Pomeroy, '96, of Chicago, chairman of the council, will preside at the meeting. To Discuss Women's Building "The vital need of a women's build- ing on the campus will be presented at this time," said Mrs. W. D. Hender- son, '04, secretary, "but we cannot say as yet what action will be taken in this regard." Besides the officers and advisory members of the council, there will be present at this meeting one councillor from each of the 23 groups of Mich- igan women throughout the country. A few delegates to the Association of Collegiate Alumnae convention to be held here Friday, will be invited to remain for the council gathering. Burton Commends Work President Burton has expressed himself as much in favor of the work of the alumnae organization, and in a letter to the secretary of the council made the statement, "I forsee the larg- est possible results from the activities of your organization. Personally, I do not see why the alumnae of a great university such as this cannot be just as enthusiastic in'the support of the work of the institution as are the graduates of the separate women's colleges and these activities on the part of the women .of Michigan are to me very encouraging and stimulat- ing."
