This quartet was organized 20 years agog under the patronage of __Mr. de: Coppet, % zealous art patron. At first the 'quartet appeared only at its pa- tron's Swiss villa. Their fame be- came so great *that they were called upon for concerts in various parts of Europe and about 15 years ago made their first trip 0o this country.
