TPM All upperclassmen taking elective work in gymnasium are required to have a heart and lung examination. Those who have not taken one should do so at once. Girls who are planning to spend the Christmas holidays in Ann Arbor should sign up in Dean Myra B. Jor- dan's office at once. It is important that the exact number be known as soon as possible. Unique Costumes Will Win Prizes Unique prizes are offered for the most original masquerades and com- petition promises to be keen at the annual fancy dress party to be given by the Women's league Saturday night, Jan. 22. House groups that intend to give stunts are advised by the committee in charge to make plans before the holidays in order that individual cos- tumes may be thought out and pre-' pared at home. The family stock of dress-up costumes may contribute a pecuiar disguise which can be trans- formed with a little effort into a prize-wining creation. A prize is offered for the cleverest stunt, and the names of all houses which are going to compete should be given to Theodosia Burton, '22, be- fore Dec. 21. GIRL RESERVE CLUBS SEND TOYS TO LOCAL HOSPITALS Christmas has been observed by the Gir Reserve clubs both in their work and in their fun. Parties for the clubs have been held this week and, others will be given before Tuesday night; There will be no more meetings of the Girls' Reserve clubs after Tuesday until college re-opens. Select Your Xmas Gifts Early A LARGE ASSORTMENT at DARLING & 7IALLEAUX Blouse Week, Since practical gifts are the subject of these sugges- tions, may we mention silk blouses? Probably nothing is more practical and yet more charming and more sure to please than a pretty costume blouse in suit shades or more brilliant colors. To be really appreciated, these blouses should be seen, but perhaps a few descriptions might help: Overblouses, perhaps predominate, although blouse and tiebacks are also seen. ' An overblouse of Hindu georgette is embroidered in self colored silk combined with navy.' A sash of navy ties in the back. The.same color combination appears in a blouse, entirely plain except for a frill around the neck and the bottoms of the sleeves. Navy georgette is made into an extremely lovely blouse with, a panel down the front heavily beaded and embroidered in rose, bisque and navy. Bisqjue georgette forms the lining. Delicate and lovely is an overblouse of orchid georgette, embroidered in the same shade of silk. The sleeves are short. Brown satin forms a severely plain blouse, distinguished by tiny pleatings of, the satin at the neck. Green, blue and Hindu embroidery enriches a blouse of navy georgette, while. insets of blue, bisque and Hindu form an unusual note on another blouse of,navy. The ever popular mahogany is used in a chic blouse of geor- gette, heavily beaded and embroidered down the front. Embroidery is very effectively used on an over blouse of navy satin, lightened by a front panel of light blue. Tiny dots of orange, green, red, blue and gold embroidered in wool, cover the front of a dainty and unusual blouse of navy geor- gette. A surplice blouse combines georgette and satin in bisque and navy very effectively. Why' not let one of these blouses, at half price, settle for you your gift problem?
