The eligibility rules for this event are somewhat different from those of the interfraternity combat in that no men who have won Varsity numerals are permitted to compete. All members of this year's squad, however, who have not received the highest swimming award will take part, as will members of last year's freshman organization. This will again bring into action some of the stars of the fraternity meet as well as many other crack tank men who did not have the opportunity to com- pete at that time. Numerals will be awarded to win- ners of four or more points, first place to count five, second three, third two, and fourth one. The events will be the 40, 100, and 220 yard free style, 60 yard back stroke, 60 yard breast stroke, plunge for distance, and fancy diving. A cup will be awarded to the highest point winner. It should be under- stood, further, that the intramural department does not award more than one Jersey a year to a man for any one sport. Therefore, those who win interclass awards, but who later achieve Varsity numerals, will not re- ceive their interclass jerseys. UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS WILL ATTEND CHICAGO MEETING Several local professors will attend a meeting of the Modern Language association to be held in Chicago dur- ing the Christmas vacation. Prof. Solomon F. Gingerich, of the English department, will read a pe- per on "The Turning Point in Words- worth's Religious Faith." Profs. Charles P. Wagner, Hugo P. Thieme, and Samuel Moore have arranged to be present. Prof. Morris P. Tilley will attend a similar meeting in the east at Vassar college. STORZ ROLLS 629 FOR NEW RECORD Bowling in the interfraternity pre- liminary contest was completed on Thursday evening with the exception of one team. The evening's work was featured by H. E. Storz, Delta Chi, who broke Gallagher's high mark for the tourney by rolling 629 in three games, an average of slightly over 209 points per game. This feat is particularly notable as in last year's tournament Storz was high point winner. There is still a chance of his mark this year being broken, however. The teams bowled as follows: Phi Kappa Psi, 1,930 Sinfonia, 2,129; Phi Sigma Kappa, 2,110; Delta Chi, 2,121; Phi Gamma Delta, 1,777; Phi Rho Sigma, 2,315; Lambda Chi Al- pha, 2,316. The following eight teams are high and will bowl in the elimination matches: Phi Delta Theta, Sigma Nu, Theta Chi, Monks, Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Rho Sigma, Alpha Delta Phi, Psi Upsilon. The class contests are also going strong. The following schedule is announced for Monday night: 7 o'clock-senior engineers, junior en- giners, fresh lits, junior lits. 9 o'clock -upperclass medics, architects, ex-'20 engineers, graduates.
