Caters to Fraternities and Sororities Last years customers One half block South of "MAJ" a ORPHEUM LAS'T TIMES TODAY MISS TAYLOR ENDORSES Ye WV C. As HEALTH WORK DR. SARGENT'S PROGRAM PRAIS. ED BY NATIONAL SEC- RETARY "One of the greatest educational movements of China is the health program," said Miss Harriet Taylor, national Y. W. C. A. secretary in an interview yesterday. "However great it becomes we realize that the Uni- versity of Michigan, through Dr. Clara Sargent, '16M, laid the foundation." Dr. Sargent has organized a school in China for the benefit of this move- ment, representing 19 provinces. Pic- tures; charts, sterioptican slides are features of the instruction. More than 22,000 Chinese women are in attend- ance. Each year the University, through the Y. W. C. A. raises money for the support of Dr. Sargent in her work. According to Miss Taylor, many new posts in international work have been opened by the assolcation. Sec- retaries are being sent for the first time to the Malay peninsula, Singa- pore, the Phillipines, Mexico City, and Liberia. Ermina Fillingham, '16, a University Y. W. C. A. secretary, will represent the national association at Singapore. "The Y. W. C. A. is always welcome in foreign countries," said Miss Tay- lor in closing, "because it always goes by invitation either from the united church or by some government ap- peal. Miss Taylor recently returned from the Y. W. C. A. world's conference in Switzerland. She was decorated twice during the war by the French govern- ment for her services. s3 ° _- R s "".a3sv Schumacher Hardware Company ELECTRICAL GIFTS Coffee Urns Toasters Grills Irons Percolators Curling Irons Chafing Dishes Table Lamps Floor Lamps Egg Boilers Heating Pads Hoover Cleaners 308-10-12 South Main Street A Store of Individual, Shops Christmas Sugeslion CRYSTAL ELECTRIC WASHERS Frank Mayo in. She dressed in a gown of the vampire style. Even tie belhop was shocked for a while. -- -SITE WAS IN A BACHELOR APARTMENT. II So after her hubby had passed away, She searched for a sinner both night and day. She captured a male in a swell cafe But this bird was careful and flew away. BUT THE WIDOW STILL PURSUED HIM. IV Just what it took to meet her need; This sinner had-oh yes, indeed? And whendshe learned, she thot she'd faint. Her sinner proved to be a saint. OH SIN! WHERE IS THY STING? League To Give Biig Thanksgiving Enterta in men Just as Thanksgiving dinner, with its numerous and palate-tickling courses, surpasses all other dinners of the year, so will the party which the Women's League is giving at 4 o'clock this afternoon in Barbour gymnasium outshine all league par- ties which have gone before.: The turkey and dressing, to carry the sim- ile still farther, will be furnished by specialty acts from the famous Martha Cook cabaret. Anne Louise Mitchell, '21, president of Masques, is in charge of the pro- gram, or should it be menu? the mus- ical numbers of which will be furn- ished by Catherine Colcord, '21. In one of the stunts, two maidens, one unduly attenuated, ,the other overly plump, will consult a quack doctor about their respective states of health. A ridiculous dance is another feature of the performance. There will be the usual dance in the gymnasium, which has been especially decorated in honor of the occasion. Circle two-steps and marching will add the "seasoning" to this part of the entertainment. Card tables will be started, and there will also be some foolish games for those more frivol- ously inclined. Ice cream cones will be sold for refreshments.
