SHARTEL 4ADDED TO LAWFACULTY Professor Grismore Absent on Year's Leave; Little Change in Courses BARBOUR COLLECTION GIVEN TO SCHOOL'S LIBRARY Returning to the University this year just seven years after taking his LL.B. degree in the Law school, Pro- fessor Burke Shartel takes his place among the faculty of the Law school, and will teach two courses in Prop- erty. Professdr Shartel graduated from the. Literary college in 1910, and re- ceived his LL.B. in 1913. After grad- uation from Jhe Law school, he went into the practice of law in Oklahoma City for four years, at the close of which he began graduate work in the Harvard Law school. During this time Professor Shartel served several months in the navy, returniig then to Harvard, where he took his S.J.D. degree in graduate work, in 191'8. During the year 1919-1920 Professor Shartel was a member of the faculty of the University of Illinois, whera his wvork met with such success that he was called to Michigan at the close of the school year. The only other change in the fac- ulty is the absence for one year of Prof. Grover C. Grismore, on leave. Courses in the Lava, school this year will be substantially the same as last with two exceptions. The course en- titled Agencyrhas been extended to two hours per week for a full year and will include the subjects "Master and Servant"; and "Workman's Com- pensation,"..two subjects which, while not directly connected with the topic they are under, are considered by the faculty to be worthy of the careful study they will now receive, in con- trast to the prevalent neglect award- ed them by the majority of schools about the country. A seminary course in "The Law, of Private Corporations" has also been added. The library of the Law school has been considerably enlarged this year by the addition of a large collection on American statutory law and rec- ords of constitutional conventions. The library of the late Professor Wil- liam T. Barbour has also been added to the collection.
