Classes will report at the gymnasium at their regular hours. Aside from regular work, girls may elect any of the fol- lowing: Swimming, basketball, aesthetic dancing, and a playground course, although elective work is not compulsory. Those wishing to enroll are asked to sign up on the bulletin board at Barbour gymnasium. Hours for these classes will be announced later. PROSPECTIVE TEACHERS ENROLL FOR POSITIONS Approximately 275 students attend- ed the meeting held by the appoint- ment committee Wednesday afternoon in Tappan hall. Miss Margaret Cam- eron, secretary to the committee, ex- plained the conditions of registration and told of the opportunities presented each year to those who enroll. Prospective teachers must fill out their permanent registration blanks at the registrar's office this week since a fee of $1 will be charged for late enrollment, according to Miss Camer- on. Many calls come in to the committee from schools all over the country as well as a few calls for secretaries and librarians. The committee is ready to do what it can to assist those students interested in any of these branches, of work. NEW MEMBERS ENTERTAINED AT ATHENA FORMAL BANQUET Athena Literary society held. its In- itiation banquet Wednesday night in Barbour gymnasium, and formally re- ceived the 13 girls who were elected to membership this fall. Among the many alumnae members of the society who were present were Ruth Houston, '18, first president of the organization, and Ida Gratton, '20, who had a place on the Michigan team at the Central league debate last year. Beata Hasley, '22, president of the society, was mistress of ceremonies. Toasts were given by Prof. Thomas C. Trueblood, and Prof. Richard D. T. Hollister, guests of honor. Wedding Announced at Gamma Phi Announcement was made Monday night at the Gamma Phi Beta house of the marriage of Lois Maher, '21, to Herbert Slusser, '21, a member of Sigma Delta Kappa fraternity.
