NEVERTHELESS" GIVEN
BY MASOUES AT PARTY
"iNevertheless!' tha's a funny
word," says Lou, the little heroine of
"Nevertheless," the pleasing one-act
play which Masques presented at the
Women's league party yesterday aft-
ernoon in Barbour gymnasium.
The story centers about a litte
:brother and sister who are sent to
their room to reada book called "The
Narrow Path," as a punishment for
using bad grammar. They stumble,
upon the word "nevertheless," which
they do not understand, are interrupt-
ed by a rather pleasant burglar, and
lead him back to the straight and nar-
row path that they are reading about.
The part of the little girl is played
by Frances Maire, '21, her brother by
Mary Ives, '23, and the burglar by
Minnie Louise Pratt, '21.
The party which followed the play
was as great a success as the play, tb
judge by the laughter that issued from
the gymnasium while the many round
dances were in process. Lead by
Theodosia Burton, '21, chairman of
the social committee of the league, the
"circle two-step" and other feature
dances of the get-acquainted sort were
were introduced. Michigan songs were
sung, and the atmosphere of the party
was friendly and informal.
