TAYLOR TO SPEAK ON "PROSPERITY IN DETROIT" 1. Paul Taylor, lecturer and author, will deliver an address on "Prosperity .in Detroit" at 8 o'clock tonight in room P 162 of the Natural Science building. His talk has been arrangea under the auspices of members of the Michigan chapter of the Intercolleg- iate Socialist society. Mr. Taylor, who recently published a book the title of which is the same as the subject of his address, is a former minister and well known in Detroit. He is at present the only Socialist member of the Highland Park council, and Is also secretary of the Wayne county local of the 'Social- ist party. ' Nursing Course' With the aim of enlarging the de- partment of public health nursing of the Universtiy by the addition of new courses along the line of social serv- ice, a nine months course in public health nursing is being offered to graduate nurses by the department this year. Theoretical work is to be given at the University, consisting of such studies as principles of public health nursing, pscychology, sociology, hy- giene and sanitation, and educational problems of public health Aursing. All field work will be conducted in Detroit under the direct supervision of Mrs. Gretter, superintendent ot1the Visiting Nurse association, Miss Ross, chief of the nursing division and Miss Emily Daniel. Equal time will be giv- en for pratical and theoretical work. A new class will be admitted at the beginning of the second semester, and all graduate nurses interested in the course are asked to communicate with Mrs. Barbara H. Bartlett, direct- or of public health nursing, room 329, Natural Science building. Tuition for residents of Michigan is $45.60, and for non-residents of the state, $60.60.
