31UST CHANGE ITS ATTITUDE;
Charging the American press with £
harsh and impractical proposals for
Americanization, Nazareth I, Manguoni
'20, devotes a long 'article in the cur-
rent issue of Education to a discourse
on Migration and Americanizatioin
with solutions to the problem.
"In the past two years," states Mau-'
gouni. "the columns of our press have,
been occupied with numerous articles
explaining and proposing many sug-
gestions for Americanization. Mally of r
these suggestions are harsh and 11n-
practical and wouild unquestionably- re.-,
main fruitless if 211e should try to

them feel at home. The quicker we
destroy artificial barriers the quicker
the imig*rants will fall in line, he be-
lieves.
"W~e must have racial committees to
advise anid develop iniitiative among
the aliens," he declares. "Our press
must take a sympathetic attitude, end-
ing its unnecesSary attacks upon. them;;
the ;state: legislatures must provide a
fund for aliens' ediucation. ,We must
have home and district teachers who
cAn. penetrate Into the immigrants'
homes and teach them. These meas-
ures and these ideals will bring hap-
piness and good to all."
