PRODUCTION OPEN TO BOTH UN- VERSITY MEN AND WOMEN "The Importance of Being Earnest," Masques' annual play, to be given June 1, will be presented at the Whitney theater for the first time since the in- stitution of the dramatic organization. The play is to be open to (he men as well as to the women of the campus and community, although all parts will be taken by women as in pre- vious years. "This innovation has been mae be- cause we feel that after five years the organization has established such a reputation for artistic presentation of English comedy as to warrant a larger and more representative audi- ence than has beer} possible in the past," is the statement of Anne Mit- chell, '21, president. The cast includes a number of girls who have already made a reputation for themselves in campus dramatics. Prof. J. Raleigh Nelson, of the engin- eering college, who has directed all Masques' plays and several other not- able campus productions, is to be in charge of this piece.
