He was dean of the law school in Boston from 1902 until 1911 and was the only survivor of the first faculty of the school. Dr. Bigelow was born in Eaton Rapids, Mich., graduating from the University of Michigan be- fore he was 20. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard in 1879, and LL.D. from Northwestern in 1896. His legal works are used through- out the country, and when the Cam- bridge Modern History was published, he was one of the few Americans ask- ed to contribute.
