EXIJMBT OF 'SILKS
WILL LEND TODAY
Word has been received that the col-
lection of silks from Cheney Brothers
of New York City, now on exhibition
in Alumni Memorial hail will have to
be taken dow-n tomorrow. Those who
have not seen the exhibition and who;
are interested are urged to visit the
exhibit today.
These silks are decorative fabrics
and show wonderful modern silk-craft
in the reproduction of old silks. The
silks are in large strips and repre-
sent a period of history.
There are reproductions of East In-
dian, Persian, Chinese, and Japanese
silks from the Orient. The Occident
is represented in the Italian renais-
sance period, French periods of Louis
XIV and XV. and some Portugese,
cloths. A nearer modern time is seen
in the Adam period of silks in Eng-
land. There are Ilso silks, which are
new in pattern, for draperies and dec-
oration purposes.
