P.rogram Announced for Athena Meet The regular meeting of the Athena Literary society will be held at 7:15 o'clock Tuesday evening in the Alpha Nu rooms in University hall. The program of the evening will consist in three minute talks on the proposi- tion, "Resolved, That a parliamentary form of government should be adopted by the United States." NUEROUS CHANGES IN UNIVERSITY FACULTES Many new men have been added to the roster of the University faculty and a fairly large number of men have given up their positions with the University for various reasons. In the Romance languages depart-! ment a large number of last year's men are missing. Prof. H. D. Austin is no longer on the faculty and the following instructors have resigned or are on leave of absence: Mr. H. C. Barnett, Mr. R. H. Bonilla, Mr. Charles Bratt, Mr. George Bratt, Mr. B. S. D'Ooge, Mr. O. K. Lundebrg, Mr. Stephen Scatori, and Mr. Karl Shedd. New men in this de- partment are Instructors Caesar Bar- ja, Michael Bennet, Charles Garry) J. B. Cloppet, De Flippis, Nelson Eddy, R. H. Hering, H. Hootkins, James Kerr, J. H. Muyskens, W. F. Patterson, Rus- sell Purnell, and E. E. Rovillain. Many Medic Changes In the Medical school, Dr. C. G. Darling, Dr. I. D. Loree, Dr. C. H. Marshall, and Dr. C. L. Washburn have resigned their positions on the fac- ulty and the following men have been added to the teaching staff of that college: Dr. Le Roy Abbott, Dr. John Alexander, Dr. F A. Coller, Dr. Philip Hadley, and Dr. Frank Wilson. The reason for the changes in this de- partmnt is that under the new sys- tem the instructors are required to devote their entire time to Universit- work whereas formally only part time was required in some instances. In the Homoeopathic hospital the University has lost Dr. R. H. Criswell and Dr. J. D. Van Scoich both of whom have returned to private prac- tice. Dr. J. A. W. Johnson has been promoted from the rank of assistant to that of instructpr, and the follow- ing new men have been assigned duty in this department: Dr. L. J. Boyd, assistant professor; Instructors Dr. P. G. Hanna, Dr. Harvey Wynn, and H. F. Closz, and Assistants Dr. Nels Olson and Dr. J. K. Durling. Dr. G. W. Boericke, formerly an instructor, has been made an assistant professor. In the English department, no loss- es are recorded and only two new men have been added to the faculty, these being Instructors Kemp Keena and Carl L. Bahlstron. Rhetorie Instructors The following new instructors have been added to the rhetoric depart- ment: Messrs J. R. Adams, F. K. Mitchell, G. C. Quinnell, and A. G. Bouchard.
