ANS KIZATION QUOTIA rILAUED AT =,09VV Detroit, Sept. 27.-Adjutant General John S. Bersey of Michigan states that Michigan's quota in the reorganized national guard will .be 12,000 men. Of these 6,000 will be organized in Detroit in infantry, cavalry and ar- tillery organizations, it is stated. Many officers and men who served gloriously in France with the 32nd division are helping organize the De- troit units, which expeet to be perfect- ed very shortly. Enlistment has already commenced in Detroit, company commanders have been named and it is expected to bring each of the infantry companies up to 100 men very soon. A canvass shows that nearly 75 per cent of the new organization here will be com- fposed of veterans of the world war. LEADING INTERNATIONAL LAW EXPERT COMES TO UNIVERSITY Prof. E. D. Dickinson, the leading expert In' the United States on inter- national law, comes to the Law School of the University this year'-to take charge of -the coursesin the law of trusts, according to information re- ceived by Dean Henry M. Bates. . *Professor Dickinson received ,his degree of A.B. from Carlton college, Minnesota, and later received the de- gree of Ph.D. from Harvard univer- sity. After being graduated froml Harvard he entered the Law school of the University of Michigan, where he received the degree of J.D. He" has been professor of international and constitutional law at Dartmouth college for the past nine years. UNION HOUSEWI RMI BUILDING WILL BE COMPLETELY FINISHED AT THAT TIME , Working under adverse conditions and facing a", shortage of money, the Union officials have nevertheless pushed forward the work on the new building to such an extent that the date for the housewarming opening has been set for November 15. At this time the building will be offi- cially opened and except for the swimming pool and reading room on the second floor, it will be entirely completed and equipped. The third and fourth floors are now wholly finished, furnished, and ready for use. These portions of the struc- ture Were fixed up during4 the, sum- mer months, and everything to make them complete has been installed. On the fourth floor there are about 50 rooms where the alumni members may stop or have their friends visit. Offices for the Union and rooms for campus societies are located on the third floor, and while the lower floors s being used as a social center and reading room. At present the lobby is torn up, as the temporary floors are being taken out and the permanent ones are be- ing put in. Fixtures and furniture for the whole building have been or- dered and they are all either here or on the way. The one room in shape for use on the first floor is the ladies' dining room, although the lob- by is used as a room agency.
