Formerly on Stage Few stories are more entertaining than Winchell Smith's "The Fortune Hunter." It has appeared on the stage and in novel form and been highly successful in both. Perhaps the tale is highly improbable yet it. is cleverly developed that audience is always ex- pectant but hever able to forsee the outcome. The hero in "The Fortune Hunter" is a young man endowed with the iusual human ability for spending his father's money but absolutely unsul- lied by covetous habits. When his father dies and he discovers that he is penniless, he tries to make a living but fails in all his attempts until his friends suggest a plan to him as his last resort. It is that he go to a. small town and marry a rural heir- ess. When he embarks on this for- tune hunting adventure he becomes the center of a number of very enter- taining, unexpected situations. In "She Loves and Lies," to appear Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at the Arcade, Norma Talmadge dem- onstrates a unique form of Zeap year: proposal.
