The Chatter viox Yes, this is the chatter box wherein we intend to voice the opinions .on matters sensible and non-sensible of the women of the campus. The record we have up on the chatter box today is only explanatory of our purpose. Articles printed in the chatter box will never be signed. They must be short and to the point, they must be on a current topic of special interest to the women of the University, and the writer's name must accompany any article sent in if it is to be print- ed. We hope you'll look for the chatter box in the next issue of The Daily. The second record 'promises to be more interesting than the first. FOREIGN STUDENT GIRLS ENTER- TAIN AND ARE ENTERTAINED They ake Their Own IA. A. High Teaching thrift to the students of our schools throughout the country is being developed in the Ann Arbor high school. One course which should be effective in combatting the high cost of living is that in second year domestic art. In this course the girls learn to clean and press oId materials and make them into prac- tical dresses for school wear. "When we started this course last year many of the girls scorned the idea, but now they seem to have grown to see, the wisdom of using old mate- rials," says Miss McMullen, head of the domestic art department. Old Woolens Best The girls have found that the old woolen materials are often really bet- ter than goods woven this year, and much more economical. The course is doubly practical in view of the great increases in the price of Toolen gools this year. 'the girls male all their own patterns and are turning out some very good looking dress s from materials that might otherwi e have been wasted. . Girls who are interested in earning money by doing housework by the hour, or in waiting table for their board are requested to ask for inform- ation at Dean Jordan's office. Tennis tournament entries will close today. Girls, who are interested should sign the list posted in Barbour- gymnasium. Hockey practice schedules for jun- iors and seniors, are posted on the bulletin board in Barbour gymnas- lum. + Athena Literary society will meet at, 7:15 o'clock tonight in Webster room, Law building.
