Prof. Arthur Percival Newton will lecture Jan. 21 on the "British Em- pire," and Dean Charles Haskins Jan. 27 on "The.Peace Conference.", Professor Newton, professor of im- perial history in the, University of London, is making a tour of this coun- try and recently read a paper on they "British Crown Colonies" at the an- nual meeting of the American His- torical association at Cleveland. Pro- fessor Newton is interested in bring- ing about closer co-operation between British and American universities, es- pecially in historical studies and the exchange of students and professors. Charles Haskins, dean of the Har- vard Graduate school and professor of history in that university, had, charge of the group of experts who provided information for the United States government in adjusting the Alsace-Lorraine question at the Peace 'conference.' For some years Dean Haskins was secretary of the American Historical association council ands recognized as one of the authorities in medieval in- stitutions. The rest of the dances will be given over to departments and classes. Each class or department will have four dances. The schedule was effective this week-end when the senior lits and engineers had Friday night and the Medics Saturday night. Any Member Can Secure Tickets Later Tickets for the Friday evening dance go on sale at 5 o'clock Wed- nesday, and for the Saturday night dance at 5 o'clock Thursday. At 1 o'clock on the following day, any Union member Is entitled to secure tickets, if they all have not been dis- posed of. BUILDING'OF HELTH SRVIE TO BE ENLARGED BETSY BARBOUR DORM WILL BE COMPLETED BY FALL Enlargements on the building occu- pied by the University Health service will be begun by the buildings and grounds department of the Univer-. sity soon. Owing to the limited space of the present quarters it has been found necessary to build an addition to the north side of the building whih will be 12 by 335 feet,, one story high. The waiting room will be enlarged' by tearing out one of the partitions be- tween a room now used for consulta- tion and the present waiting room. Seats will be placed here for the ac- commodation of the waiting parties. The addition will contain two pri- vate examination rooms and one dark room, according to Mr. 'R C. Par-. don, superintendent of buildings and grounds. 1,000 Lockers Ordered The buildings and grounds depart- ment has had 1,000 lockers for use in In Waterman gymnasium ordered for some time, and the first shipment is expected to arrive the first week in February, when work will be begun immediately on their installation. The west end of the basement of Waterman gymnasium is being plas- tered and a cement .flooring is being laid for the lockers. This room was originally intended for a swimming pool.
