C. Pat- terson and George Ade, and the award for the first year has been given to Coach Zuppke's champion Illinois team for its 1919 title. The emblem is to be a full-sized football- of silver, placed in a kick-off position on a brass mound. While it will be permanently given to the ag- gregafio winning three champion- ships of the Western Conference, these championships need not come in suc- cession. In case of a disputed title, the trophy will be awarded to the team which in the opinion of an especially, appointed committee merits the honor. Members of the winning team will also be accorded recognition in the way of specially designed medals.
