Vacation entertainment for Uni-
versity girls was furnished by the
Women's league, at. an afternoon tea
party, a sleigh ride, and a dance on
New Year's eve.
Sixty girls attended a party given at
the Alpha Phi house, and 22 went on
the sleigh ride. At 10:30 o'clock, aft-
er passing by nearly every girl'a
home, refreshments were served at
the htome of Miriam Schlotterbeck,
'23, and the rest of the evening was
spent in dancing and singing Michi-
gan songs.
The New Year's eve dance was held
in the Arcade: hall. Over 30 couples
black degrees and 3 copying were present,.

telegraph. Both radio telegraph and
radio telephone were used.

telephone operators notified Colonel
Lucas that they had succeeded in
picking up the carols sent out Christ-
mas eve. The, New Year's greetings
sent to all parts of the country Dec.
31 consisted of a 60-word message

Journalism classes will be held dur-
ing the remainder of this semester in
the Ann Arbor Press building, as us

been utilized heretofore by the de-
partment of journalism have been
thrown into one tp give larger class-

Prof.John R. Brumm states that
the "steady increase In enrollment nr
the' classes in journalism will neces-
sitate holding the classes some other
place during thenext semester. It is
probable that some of the class rooms
in the'new library will be utilized.
EX-REGENT BARBOUR
DONATES OLD HOME
Former Regent Levi Barbour, of
Detroit, recently notified the Regents
of the University of the gift of his
residence on 661 Woodward avenue
,Detroit. The proceeds from the lease
of the home will go toward the schol-
arship fund for oriental woien al-
ready established by Mr. Barbour.
This latest gift of Mr. Barbour brings
t total of his gifts to the University
to early 500,000.
APPOINT BOARD OF GOVERNORA
FOR BETSY BARBOURRESIDENCE
Dean Myra B. Jordan; Mrs. J. 0.
Schotterbeck, and Mrs. J. R.i Effinger,
of. Ann Arbor, Miss Mary Turner and
Mrs. A. W. Dack of Detroit, have been
appointed as a board of governors for
the Betsy Barbour residence by the
13oard of -Regents. The residence,
which will be ready next fall, will
house about 100 girls.
LOUISE POTTER ACCEPTS NEW
SECRETARYSHIP IN DETROIT
Louise Dotter, '16, who. has been
secretary to Dean Myra B. Jordan for
the past few years, has accepted a po-
sition as private secretary to Mr.
Charles L. Spain, deputy superintend-
ent of public schools in Detroit. Anna
Lloyd, '18, now holds the position in
Dean Jordan's office and has taken
charge of the work there.
Former Student Marres Albion Girl
Victor Dibble, ex-'20L, was married
to Miss Ethel Vaughn Rogers, of Al-
bion, on Dec. ,21, 1919. Mr. Dibble
left the University in his second year
to enter the service. Both are grad-
uates of Albion college.
Mr. and Mrs. Dibble will make their
home in Detroit,. where Mr. Dibble is
successfully connected with a promin-
ent real estate firm.
