THE MAJESTIC two star o ng Oliv e Arcad "A Very Good Young Man" is the name of Bryant Washburn's latest, - Paramount picture which will be - shown at the Majestic today and to- - 1 morrow. In this production he con-. t tinues along the style of comedy which . has made him so popu:ar, again play- s ing the part of a "boob." e As "a very good young man" he has never lied, stolen, flirted, or gambled. But when he ,proposes to his sweet- heart he is rejected on the ground that he is too good 'to be true, that his wild oats would probably be sown after marriage. He deteryines to secure a good e criminal record and then demand his e sweetheart's hand, but every one of his, supposed crimes proves to be a y benefit to someone instead of being an y 1injury, and seeing that he is a dis-I 1. mal failure as a lawbreaker, flirt, and' '- gambler, she !accepts him in spite of g his being hopelessly good.' Saturday Night November 15 f A l To morrow i J.ENGINEER EXPLAINS REASONS FOR CUSTOM OF WEARING SUCH APPAREL Editor, The Michigan Daily: In looing over The Daily this morn- ing, I read a rather offensive article concerning the junior engineer and his .efficient corduroys. For the enlight- enment of the campus in general and the individual who , wrote the article in particular, I would like to, state some of the sensible reasons for such apparel. The junior engineer finds himself confronted with a full morning of work, and his afternoon classes beginning at 1 o'clock. This afternoon of work is generally a practical application of his theor- tical training up to his third year. This application is not like the labor- atories of most of the Icolleges, but necesitates in a man getting his hands and clothing soiled, in other words-"in up to the elbows. It is not the good fortune of all students to room and board at the same place, but in most caesdthese two places of 'living are widely separated. In the brief interruption of one hour it is nearly impossible to .get from one, place to another, t say nothing of changing his clothes. As a result the' "cords" were adopt- ed as a practical, sensible, and inoffen- sive wearing apparel for all persons 'who do things, and' are recognized by broad minded people as a mark of distinction of one who has arrived at a competent state of mind. AL. CUTBERT, 3-Engineer. ?linnesota Game Attracts Alumni Saturday, Nov. 22, promises to be one of the biggest days in the alumni history of'the University. Homecom- ing .days have been arranged by. prac- ticallyall fraternities, mny non-fra- ternity men have also, signified their intention of returning .to the first game between Michjgan and Minnesota since 1910. It is expected that the attendance at. this game will top the 28,000 mark, as already all of the seats have been sold and many mail orders have been re ceived for the standing room tickets which went on sale Monday after- noon. * Two thousand applications for seats at the game have been turned away, according to Athletic association' of- Acials. This does not mean that any student of the Upiversity has not been given a ticket, for in all cases where students made application they were filled although in many of these cases it was, not possible to give them but one seat.
