A new teacher, Miss Marjorie
Brown of Boston, has been added to
the women's physical education -fac-
ulty. There are now four instruct-
ors in this department and it has
been greatly enlarged this year be-
cause of the increased attendance of
freshman and sophomore women.

Thursday afternoon, plans were made
for the entertainment of the new soph-
omore, junior, and senior girls. The
tea is to be the first of a series of
parties to be held for them.

Grads In Chicago
To Revive Spirit
University of Michigan women at
Chicago, wishing to revive their old
spirit for their university, have in-
vited the women coming from-Ann Ar-
bor for the games to be their guests
at a luncheon which they are plan-
ning to give -at the Ida Noyes hall,
the women's building on the Midway
of Chicago.
After the luncheon a meeting will
be held, where old college yells will
be revived and speeches will be
given.
The campus will be represented by
Marguerite Chapin, '20, president of
the Women's league.
She will tell Michigan women of
Chicago what we are doing here on
the campus for that i? the . feature
that they are most interested in. Aft-
er the meeting all of the women will
attend the football game together.
HOSPITAL WORK
SHOWS PROGRESS

A party for all girls of the Univer-
sity was given by the Women's league
yesterday afternoon in Barbour gym-
nasium. There was an interesting
program which was characterized by
several .clever "stunts" given by
-Masques.
A reading, a dance, two piano solos,
'and several very comic impersona-
tions were :the features of the pro-
.gram. Refreshments were served
and there was dancing in the gymna-
sium.
The actors in the Masques act were

Any non-freshman girls who would
be interested in teaching sewing and
could give Saturday 'from 9 to 11
o'clock, will please call at Newberry
hall, or see Marjorie Van Norman.
Michigan Dames are needed to lead
industrial clubs in the evenings, and
to assist in the sewing school which
meets from 9:30 to 11o'clock on Sat-
urday mornings. If willing to help,
report at the city Y. W. C. A. as soon
as possible.
All Uhiversity houses which have
hot chosen a representative to the
board of representatives of the Wom-
en's league should do so at once. Send
the representative's name to Elsie Er-
ley, '20, at Martha Cook building.
Junior and senior hockey practice
will be held at 10:30 o'clock today.
Those interested in making, the team
should attend this practice.
Any girls interested in making
hand-painted cards for Thanksgiving
are asked to call at Newberry hall for
materials and instruction.
A meeting of the board of represent-
atives of the Women's league will be'
held at 9 o'clock this morning in Bar-
bour gymnasium. Any representative
who is unable to come should send a
substitute.
Membership tryouts for Athena will{
be held at 7:15 o'clock Tuesday eve-,
ning, Nov. 11, in room 302, Mason hall.

Girl Reserves Hold "Model Meeting'M
Girls' Reserve club leaders held
their last meeting Thursday evening
at Newberry halil. It was conducted
as a model Girls' Reserve club meet-
ing, with the prospective leaders play-
ing the part of the members of the
club.
The meeting opened with a model
initiation, which was followed by a
flve-minute talk by one of the girls
on the "Ideals of the Girls' Reserve."
There was also a discussion on the
"Insignia of a Lady." The remaiing
time was spent in playing games.
Walk 10 Miles and Get Honor Point!
There will be a 10-mile hike start-
ing at 1 o'clock this afternoon from
Barbour gymnasium. All those who
complete the hike will receive an ath-
letic honor point.
