MWILDING ASSIGN3ENTS FOR
CAMP DAVIS NOW BEING MADE
Five buildings have already been as-
signed to students who will be at
Camp Davis next summer and more
applications are coming in every day.
It is expected that by the end of De-
cember almost all the students will
have been assigned to buildings.
Thebmen in charge anticipate having
a much -larger camp next summer than,
they had last year, and are now mak-
ing plans to rebuild the harbor and
boathouse. The latter vill serve a
double purpose, being designed so
that one end can be used for an office
while the other end will serve as a
boathouse.

Thomas de Lorenzo is the artist
who is doing the decorating in the
main corridor of the new Library.
The two small, side panels at the
end of the. "orridor will representl
Drama and Comedy, while the center
panel will contain lettering pertain-
ing to the University. The side panels
are Pompeian in character and of con-
ventional design. Mr. de Lorenzo ex-
pects to spend at least a month and
a half on it.
At the right of the study room, as
one enters by the main entrance, are,
reproductions of the "Della Robia"
and "Donatello," which were designed
for the choir loft In the cathedral in
Florence. These were originally be-
hind the desk in the old reading room.
Upstairs, over the delivery desk, is
a representation of a section of the
Parthenon Frieze in the British mu-
seum.
At either end of the reference room
are Carl Melcher's "Arts of Peace"
and "Arts of War." These canvas
paintings were brought here from the
exposition in Chicago and placed in
University Hall, from which they were
removed about the same time the or-
gan was removed. The stained win-
dows above the desk in this room
were brought here from the Tabard
Inn library in Philadelphia. They rep-
resent the early reading and making
of books.
Many other pictures, as well as a
bust of' President Angell and one of
George Washington, from the old
building, will be. placed at other places
in the new.r
Although the front entrance was de-
signed primarily fora an entrance, it
has been remarked .by many that it
would be a good, platform for outdoor
speeches, and it will probably be used
for mass meetings.
Indiana ,Plans Scholarship Memorials
Purdue and other Indiana colleges
will give scholarships as a practicalt
method of establishing a memorial to
Roosevelt. The plan is to double the
state's quota, if possible, and to set
aside sufficient money to yield an in-
come which will support a studentf
at each Indiana institution of higher
education.
