Tomorrow afternoon will see two of the strongest teams in the Western Conference battle for certain supremacy of the West. Many rec- ords are at stake. Ohio State has never defeated Michigan out of fifteen attenpts. Harley, of All-American fame, has never played on a defeated team. Only four first downs have been registered against the Columbus team. this season. With these statements before himi, -Coach Yost has worked this week on an effective plan of strategy, for the one purpose of con- quering Ohio State. Walter Camp, in his review of this week's football schedules, comments upon the coming game between Michigan and 0. S. U. The great football authority states that Yost is the man to plan for the stopping of Harley. Secret practice, hard work, scrimmage, and biting the dust for hours at a time, have all been on the schedule for Michigan's team. Can Michigan stop Harley? The question that is almost universal in football scircles, must be answered. Yost has succeeded in stopping the stars of Pennsylvania, Cornell, and Syracuse. In the 1918 season, the great Ackley of Syracuse, the man who played effectively against the un- defeated Pittsburg eleven last Satur- day, was stopped. The much touted kicker and the Syracuse. team drag- ged home with them a 15 to 0 defeat. Harley is but a name for Michigan, for no one man has yet succeeded in defeating Yost's eleven. The student body is pessimistic over the outcome Saturday. There is no need for such downheartedness. Every Michigan' man should immediately answer with a certain victory when. asked about the coming contest. Un- certain thinking leads to bad sup-. port, which results In a team's dis- couragement. Support of the right' kind is an essential addition to any team's fighting spirit. Ohio State is but a preliminary victim, preceding Northwestern, Chicago, Illinois, and Minnesota. The Michigan team will be on the field Saturday afternoon to uphold their long string of victories. The best assurance for victory is cer- tain support of the Michigan brand from the entire student body. FRANK RENYON, Junior.. THE WHITNEY Letter writing and its attendant evils form a basis for many of the amusing incidents in "Listen Lester," John Cort's musical comedy, which will appear at the Whitney theater Sunday. There is the packet of letters writ- ten to a "live wire" by a frolicsome widower who realizes too late that dls- cretion is the better part of a love affair, and makes numerous and, hum- orous attempts to recover these docu- ments. It is all mixed up in a bewildering array of songs and dances, not to mention the original New York cast and the dainty, vivacious chorus. 1 r' U..r rA, WW L' Lunches Nunnally's. The fact that the medical examination was included for.the first time this year in the general exam- ination and on account of the excep- tionally large enrollment, it has taken more work than usual to get the men properly classified. She plays the role- of Nell Fan- shawe, who by her simple trust, loy- alty and unselfishness, becomes an invincible power for good andsaves her erring sweetheart from disgrace. Nell's troubles begin when her soda clerk lover gets inveigled into a poker game and loses $300 of his employ- ers cash. She sees him drifting furth- er and further away but finally she reaps the reward for a good deed that clears away the clouds of misunder- standing that have come between them. THE ARCADE A drowsy Arkansas town is the scene of "Almost a Husband," featur- ing Will Rogers at the Arcade today and tomorrow. The story is taken from Opie Reed's book "Old Ebenezer" and all the dormant humor in a small town is capitalized. Nothing ever happened there until Sam Lyman, the new school teacher, from "up Vermont way," hit town. Then things started off with a bang. In acting the part of~ the school teacher, Rogersis said to create some fine comedy by his perfect ease, his seeming indifference, and his certain- ty of doing the right thing at the right time. uaQvtg ook 'I Also Mr. the MAJESTIC a comedy that has The captions 'were SUNADY Rex Beach's "TI in America. r r : - g -.. v N4 noon a aa Sig- nd receive reward. rhite kid gloves in or also brown kid gaunt- ng.
