According to F. Stuart Chapin, director of the Smith college training school for social work, the United States public health service hospitals have the problem of dealing with 50,000 mentally disabled ex-service men. A plan of training, which is open to 1members of the senior class, is as follows: First, summer session of theoretical instruction and clinical ob- servation at Smith college, Northamp- ton, Mass., July.7 to August 31; sec- ond, practice period of nine months under the supervision of the school at psychopathic hospitals and United States public health hospitals; third, concluding summer session at Smith college for advanced study. Tuition is $50 and living expenses are $75 for the summer session., The Red Cross offers a number of full scholarshipscto cover these expenses and also to cover part expenses. From $1,500 to $2,100 a year will be paid to those who complete this course. Women who are interested in this work are asked to call at Dean Myra B. Jordan's office.
