After these games come and go the games with California during com- mencement week, June 22 and 23, and the possible series with the champions of the east. Team Rated Highly The Wolverine team is rated highly by baseball critics and James Cruisen- burry, baseball critic and sporting writer of the Chicago Tribune has given his opinion that the Michigan team is superior to any of the college nines in the East. Mr. Cruisenberry has made a tour of the countryvisit- ing all the leading colleges and has seen the best teams in both the east and west in action. Probably no man in the country is better qualified to venture an opinion on the relative strength of the college nines than Mr. Cruisenberry. It is the opinion of the Tribune critic that Captain Parks is the leading hurler of college baseball and that no other' college infielder is as strong in both fielding and batting as Mike Knode. The other members of the Michigan team compare favor- ably with the players in the east. Michigan Outfield Dest The Michigan outfield is, according to the Tribune writer, without a peer. With the opportunity at hand Mich- igan has a great chance to gain na- tional recognition by challengiAg some of the big eastern institutions for a series. The progress of California in the east will afford the fans an oppor- tunity of comparing the strength of east with west.
