CLAIR ALUMNI ORGANIZE SOCIETY St. Clair alumni of the university formed a U. of M. club at their second spring dinner held here recently. -A constitution and by-laws were adopt- ed, following in the main, the general ideas carried out by other similar clubs. "Pep" talks featured the din- ner, praise being given 'the club for its aims and. each of the men being urged to work for his alma mater. WISCONSIN STUDENTS ATTEMPT ABOLITION OF FRATERNITIES Charging that fraternities and sor- orities are a menace to the University of Wisconsin and that they should be abolished, a group of non-fraternity men and women at the university have taken preliminary steps to bring the question of continued existence of the Greek letter social organizations be- fore the next session of the state leg- islature. The av- erage for the 127 professors will be $4,139. Assistant professors will re- ceive from $1,800 to $3,000, averaging $2,601. Instructors will get from $900 to $2,750, averaging $1,788.
