Policies for next year's work will
be discussed at the meeting of all
members of the Y. W. C. A. at 4
o'clock this afternoon in Newberry
hall. This open meeting will be pre-
ceded by a cabinet meeting at 3:30
p'clock.

Hula hula dancing, cannibals, and
a primitive love story of the South
Sea Islands feature in "The Idol Dan-
cer," D. W. Griffith's initial First Na-
tional release' starring Clarine Sey-
more and Richard Barthelmess for the
last times today at the Majestic. The
scene of the picture is laid on a trop-
ical island which has been partially:
civilized by a stern.New England mis-
sionary. Among the few white inhab-
itans is an old fisherman who lives
with Mary, a beautiful naive half-
castesgirl whose chief delight is danc-
ing. As the story progresses she be-
friends a young drunken cast-away
and meets the missionary's puritanical
nephew. The triangle is dissolved by
the self-sacrifice of one of its meni-
hers.
ARCADE '
An insatiable desire for admiration
makes Virginia Hastings similar to
the Salome of the Bible in "A Modern
Salome" which will feature Hope
Hampton today and tomorrow at the
Arcade. The daughter of a famous
but improvident artist, she rejects a
young broker to marry a millionaire
whom -she loves, but becomes piqued
when her husband's secretary refuses
to pay homage to her beauty. When
in this state of mind, and surprised
by her husband just after she has re-
fused to pay more blackmail to the re-
jected broker, she takes a step which
involves both her own happiness and
that of the offending secretary.
Among the episodes in the picture
is a reproduction of the scene in the
court of King Herod in which Salome
performed her Dance of Enchantment
and claimed John the Baptist as her
prize.
LOCAL BUSINESS MEN PLAN
TO RELIEVE HOUSE SHORTAGE
The Ann Arbor Building and Loan
association has been formed by prom-
inent business men of this city to re-
lieve the situation resulting from lack
of houses in Ann Arbor. The asso-
ciation plans the erection of at least
15 houses before the end of the year.

Girls Must Complete Physieal Exams
Physical examinations for freshmen
and sophomores must be completed by
Friday, May 28. All girls who have
either missed their appoimtment or
who have not yet. male one should see
Miss Wood at once.
