ARVAD
Playing the roles of two twin ,is-
teps, one of whom is a conscientious
singer while the other is an unscrupu-
lous pleasure-seeker, Elaine Hammer-
stein, who has been warmly received
by film fans since her recent entrance
into the movis, will appear today to
morrow and Tuesday at the Arade in
"The Shadow of Rosalie Byrnes," her
fourth release.
The widely different character of the
two slates so nearly identical in ap-
pearance gives rise to the develop-
ments in the story. When Leona the
singer, who marries the scion of an
aristocratic family which tries to buy
her consent to a divorce, and refuses
to be bought off, her twin beontie,
accepts the money and signs Leona's
name. By this and similar as of her
unscrupulous sister, Leona is involved
in a number of interesting complica-
tions..
Her 'husband's secretary is the only
man with whom 'Virginia Hastings
comes in contact Who is not moved to
adulations by her beauty in "A Modern
Salome," is which Hope Hampton will
make her initial screen appearance
Wednesday and Thursday 4t the A-
cade. Called Salome by her friends
Virginia's life after she has broken her
engagement with Roberto Monti, a
youngy broker, to marry James Malden,
a multi-millionalire, bears a marked re-
semblance to the historical character
from Whom her nickname was taken.
When she is caught by her husband
after a struggle with Monti who as
attemptedto' blackmail D her, she both
hides the fact that she has given Monti
money and satisfies her pride by accus-
insg the secretary, who"had refused to
worship her, of assaulting her. By thus
bearing false witness she makes the
life of both the seereLary and herself
miserable until her tonement.
"Vamping," the most popular movie
sport, also. serves as the basis for
, Viola Dana's entertaining "Dangerous
to Men," which will be shown Friday
and Saturday at the Arcade. In this
picture Miss Dana pretends that she.
is a young girl out of spite to her
guardian, almost loses him to an
actress, and wins him back by using
ultra-modern technic.

COMMENCEMENT
Commencement-that's the day fe

The graduates are always gay,
They're, free from worry, care an
strife,
Of the dreary days of college life,
With no more eight or nine o'cloq
And no more blue books to be
"crocked."
Yes, it surely is a gala day
When the little sheepskins are tue
away.
But after all is said and done,
And the life of work,-real work's

Those good 'ole days of college lif
Seem grand and soft compared
strife,-
And worry, and of other things,
That the days to come are bound
