That the drop in retail clothing
prices which has swept over the west
and middle-west in the past week is
the forerunner of a general movement
towards slightly lower priced com-
modities was tb) opintion of Prof.
David Friday expressed yesterday
when interviewed on the subject.
"The action of the federal reserve
board in taking steps to tighten the
money market is the immediate cause
of the present downward trend," said
Professgr Friday, "and while there
will not necessarily be any radical
reductions from this cause, it'will at
least curb the upward movement of
prices which has marked so many
commodities for such a long pel'Iod."
Professor Friday does not expect
any great revision of the price scale
from any factors now at work, the
only agent powerful enough to bring
about such revision being, in -his opin-
ion, a period of depression.
He said that there wasi a tendency
on the part of buyers to go slow and
that this could not but have some ef-
fect in lowering prices.
In the professor's opinion the next
few months will probably bring about
important developments in the re-
sumption of normal conditions.

The big thing about Spur is its
taste-It comes from a new method
of blending the choicest Oriental
and finest home-grown tobaccos
that brings out the tip-top qualities
of both.
That good old tobacco taste is
just one. of the rasons that Spur is
at the top and dug in-to stay there.

where Spur is different, too. A
