Appointments For Scholarship Jade Eight oriental women now in the Universtiy were reappointed to the Barbour scholarships for oriental wo- men for next year, at a meeting of the committee in charge, May 18. Five new apointments were made.,. It was possible to increase the num- ber of scholarships from 10 to 14 for the coming year, on account of the additional gifts recently made by the Hon. Levi L. Barbour. The committee also decided to increase the amount of tie scholarships from $500 to $700 for' the year 1920-1921. The following reappointments were made: Japanese group - kameyo Sadakato, '22M, Tokyo; Yuki Mat- sumoto, '23, Kanagawaken; Sugi Mi- bai, Grad., Hyogoken; Kita Fukui, '23, Yokohama; Chinese group-Al-Lan-, Giang, '23M, Nanking; Helen L. Wong, '22, Shanghai; Gien Tsin Liu, '22, Pechsien, Kiangsu; Zok Tsung Tsao, '23, Peking. The following new apointments were, made: Chinese group-Dr. Chung, San Francisco; Japanese group-MV s tki D. Kiuchi, Tokyo;' Miss Sonoko Saito, Tokyo; Indian group -Miss Probhabati Das .Gupta, Calcutta; Miss Ashalatika Haldar, Cal- cutta. MANY WANTED FOR SUMMER POSITIONS There will be no dearth of summer work this year if the number of re- quests for men which the Y. M. C. A. employment bureau is receiving can be taken as any indication. All kinds of positions, occupations, and common everyday jobs are open. Two men are wanted to serve as, hotel clerks in northern Michigan. Any number of men can be used on farms throughout the state. Salesmen are -needed as soon as school is over to sell real estate. For men who will attend Summer school there are- a number of board jobs open. Just at present the bureau is swamped with jobs of all sorts to be done immedi- ately. These are but a few of many. There are others to suit the individual taste of the seeker for employment. One can work outdoors, indoors, in fac- tory, in office, just as he wishes.
