Results of tLe "freshman tests" for engineers show that the large major- ity of men "in the class of~ '23E have aptitude along engineering lines. A general review of the tests and the conclusions reached as a result of them was 'made yesterday morning by Prof. W. C. load, at a meeting of, the freshman engineer class. About 550 of these examinations were given, and indicate a favorable ability in, geometry and technical information. Physics was third from the top, while algebra and afrithmetic made a less favorable shiowing. The purpose of the tests as exphlain- ed by Professor 1 oad, is not to test the freshman, b~ut to test the tests by comparing the ratings of men as in- dicated by their1- examination with their 'Standing during the college life. Blueprints showing thle averages and ratings of the class in the four ex- aminations have been posted 'near the secretary's office, and cardls with 'in- dividual' grades can be obtained at the office of Sec. Louis A. Hopkins. Prof. John 111 Parker spoke to th'e class on the advantages of the Sum-: merw session, and asked that anyone 6expectint to attend place his name and courses, desired on a card to b e left, at the secretary's office.
