Michigan goes into the Chicago meet
tonight ,in a handicapped condition,
due to the absence of Captain John-
son, Losch, and Wesbrook, who is play-
ing tennis against Wisconsin at Madi-
son today. The prospect is, however,
better than it was before the Illinois
meet, as the Maroons are also short
strong point winners.
Maroons Weakened
Chicago, handicapped by the loss of
Higgins and Curtiss, will give Michi-
gan a fight in the middle distance
runs, but should prove easy in the
sprints and most of the field events.
Maynard has been -running the two
mile in exceptionally fast time late-
ly, and should give Otis Moore a race
for honors in this event.
The pole vault and broad jump are
conceded to Michigan, and Later is
expected to win the high Jump. Wes-
brook -will be missed in the first two
of these events, but Slaughter and
Cross should take the leading places
in the-former event and Lashmet, who
has been broad jumping well the past
week, may be able to beat 22 feet for
first.
Cook, Should Win
Cook, who pulled a surprise by win-
ning the 100 yard dash from Illinois
last Saturday, should, be able to re-
peat, and may add a win in the 220
to his string. Wetzel and Butler are
the Michigan hopes in the\440 yard
dash. With 'loth running in form the
Wolverine team should collect 'two
places in this event. The longer runs
are uncertain, with Chicago favored
by former performances.
