S. U. on Ferry field, to- morrow morning. Practice ,matches have been held every good day for the past two weeks, and, as a result, the coach has been able to get a good line on the Varsity material.. Wesbrook Will Not Compete r Walter Wesbrook, the only veteran on the squad, will not compete against Ohio State, as he is greatly needed in the track meet with Illinois. Louis Munz will play number one in his Atead. Bob Angell is slated to play as number two man, while George Reindel will hold down number three position. Fourth place is still in doubt between Merkel and Borinstein. These two men will play a .match today to determine which shall compete against Ohio. Munz andl Reindel will play number; one in doubles with Angell and Kel- sey or ,Worcester as the other team. Angell's partner will also be deter- mined this afternoon. The last workouts were held yesterday, and Michigan's cinder artists are awaiting the bark of the starter's gun. With the exception of the three stars who will not run, Captain Johnson, Losch, and Burkholder, the men are in the best of condition and primed to put forth their best against the Illini. Wheeler Third Ent'y in 440 At Thursday's practice, a 440 heat to decide Michigan's third entry was held, Wheeler defeating Joyner by six inches. Wheeler's showing offers some encouragement for Michigan's chances in the quarter.. Coach Farrel is say- ing nothing, but hoping that, by some bit of undiscovered ability, the Wolve- rines may be able to'turn the defeat which looms into victory. One more bid to optimism is the showing of 4Hoffman in the javelin throw. Though a comparatively new man, Hoffman's work has been grad- ually improving, and an unlooked for place in that event may come to Mich- igan. There is still room on the squad &'or javelin throwers, however. Meet, to Begin at 2 The track meet will start promptly at 2 o'clocl on Saturday, and will be followed by the baseball game at 4 o'clock. A large, crowd is expected to witness both' events,' particularly if the weather conditions continue fav- orable. The Michigan and Illinois en- tries in the track meet wll be an- nounced in tomorrow's Daily. INTRAMURAL BALL EXPERIENCES HALT Class and fraternity baseball will come to a standstill for the rest of the week, except for t few games to be played early Saturday afternoon. This is caused by the two Varsity ball games and other events which swill oc- cupy the diamonds. On, Saturday at 1 o'clock the med- ics will play the fresh-dents in the class baseball series. Both i teams have been practicing for some time and a good game is expected. ; The class league so far has not shown a great deal of team work but it is ex- pected that this will improve as the tourney continues. For Monday at 3:45 o'clock two games are scheduled. The laws will play the senior lits and the fresh en- gineers will meet the lits of the same class. Little is known of the relative strength of the two teams, but the fresh lits have held several practices and will probably prove dangerous contestants for the final hoors. The Ohioans have won ,from Purdue and Otterbein, but went down to defeat to Indiana., Although Ohio has not sent the list of its team, it is quite certain that the Wirthwein brothers and Loehnert will come. These three men have all shown well in their matches to date, the Wirthwein brothers being an es- pecially dangerous doubles team.
