Coach Enzenroth T- is driving the men hard in an effort s to round theminto shape for the first n practice game with the Varsity which s will be played soon, probably the first e of next week. The squad is grad- ually narrowing down to a size that is convenient for the coach to handle. No cuts have been. made as yet, how- ever, and it is the desire of the yearl- ing mentor to keep as many men on 1 the roster as possible. e TUESDAY'S (MLES END FIRST ROUND, OF INDOOR TOURNEY i.s - e With the games yesterday afternoon e the first round of play in the frater- nity indoor league was completed and b one ame in the second round was playt. On Friday Purdue comes to, Ferry field with.- one of the strong- est baseball aggregations the Boiler- makes' have ever gotten together. Lefty Wagner, the Purdue twirler, has been highly effective against all the teams he has opposed this year. Wagner holds a verdict over Wiscon- sin and pitched a 1 to 1 .tie game agajnst Iowa last week which ended in the 12th inning after darkness ad stopped the play The Hawkeyes' were able to score only three safe- ties from Wagner's delivery in the 1 innings.. A win over 'the Boiler- makers will be a long stride toward the coveted championship. Lund- gren has not decided whether to send Captain Parks or Ruzicka against Purdue, but either one of these hurlers, if in form, should be able to give Wagner better than an even battle. From all indications the con- test will be a close one. Wisconsin invades Ferry field Sat- urday for the first time in 15 years. Not since 1905 has a Michga nine" met a Wisconsin team. Wisconsin is not represented by as powerful a nine as in some previous years, but it has been improving Mwith .each game. The Badgers lost to Purdue and Indiana in their first Conference contests, but have since more than made up for their defeat at the hands of Indiana by trimming the Hoosiers in a hotly played game at Madison. The success Michigan has in these two big week-end games will determine: largely the -chance Lnd- gren's: men have to retain the po- sition they' now hold in the Big Ten race.
