Noted for her great dramatic power
ahd compelling personality, Madame
Bourgny Hammer, the distinguished
Norwegian actress who is touring the
United States this spring prior to
making her debut next fall in New
York, will make her second appear
ance in Ann Arbor tonight at the
Whitney in Ibsen's "The Master
Chiefamong the influences which
perfected Madame Hammer's art is an
extended engagement that was tend-
ered her by the National theater of
Christiania, Norway, which is oper-
ated by the Norwegian government to
further the interests of the dramatic
art of Norway.
"Let's Go," the Fanchon-Marco re-
vue which created a sensation in the
light comedy fieldlast Sunday even-
ing at, the Whitney, will return for
an engagement tomorrow night.

Love for mother and brother strug-
gles- against honor in "The Confes-
sion," featuring Henry B. Walthall
whiich will be shown today and tomor-
row at the Majestic. By a series of
circumstances Walthall becomes the
possessor of- information about a mur-
der which he feels he is morally
bound to keep secret.
His mental struggle increases in
violence when his own brother is
charged with the crime and convicted
on circumstantial evidence. Subse-
quent developments point out to him
that his only honorable course is to
remain silent, which he does.

Animals are prominent comedians
in "Down on the Farm," Mack Sen-
nett's super-comedy which {will be re-
peated today and tomorrow at the Ar-
4ade. Chief among the dumb artists
are "Teddy, the Sennett dog star, and
"Pepper," the temperamental Sennett
cat. Besides these tw4\ the comedy
boasts a flock of turkeys, a cow,
ducks,- and chickens, which conduct
themselves with accomplished skill.
"Down on the Farm" opens with the
champion rooster putting. the sun to
work early in the morning of what
proves to be one of the busiest and
exciting days experienced on any
farm. 1I the ensemble' scenes that
follow the whole cast of people and
animals is involved.
SUMMER SESSION TO COMBINE
COURSES 1 AND 2 IN RHETORIC
New Plan Will Make Possible Working
Off of Study Requirements In.
Eight Weeks
Students will have an opportunity
to take a combination of rhetoric
courses 1 and 2 in the coming Sum-
mer session. For several reasons,
it has been decided that it would be
expedient to offer a combination of
these two courses in the summer;
By this plan, it will be possible for
a freshman to work off his rhetoric re-
quirements in the eight weeks term.
This will leave him free to elect ad-
vanced, courses, or courses in another
department for the regular semes
ters.
It is thought also that this intensive
study will produce a more satisfactory
effect than if the courses were taken
separately.
-Teachers' Exam to Start Tomorrow
The county teachers' examination
will begin here tomorrow. Examina-
tions for all three sessions will be
held in the high school.
