FAVORS PORTRAIT PLAN
HINSHAW WANTS HUTCHINS' PIC.
TURE IN MICHIGAN "HALL OF
FANE.'
Editor, The Michigan Daily:
The campaign for a portrait of
President Harry B. Hutchins has, in
my estimation, the most worthy pur-
pose of any campaign in the last four
years at Michigan. Practically all of
our .new buildings are the results of
his untiring efforts to give the Univer-
sity the best of equipment.
The new Library, the Natural Sci-
ence building, the Chemistry build-
ing, and the $2,500,000 hospital now
under construction are some of his
achievements.. The Union itself is
greatly indebted to him for his loyal
support.
Who is more deserving of this slight
tribute which we can pay him? The
Michigan Union already owns a por-
trait of President Angell.- The por-
trait of President Hutchins should
stand beside it in Michigan's "Hall of
Fame."

JOBS EXCEED APPLICANTS AT
Y. 1. C. A. EMPLOYMENT BUEAlU
More jobs on the chart than appli-
cations for work is the problem both-
ering the Y. Mtd. C. A. employment
bureau, according to statements is-
sued yesterday by officials. Many re-
quests for help by employers in the
past few weeks have placed the em;
ployment service in a pdsition to ac-
commodate a substantial number of
students who wish to work during
free hours.
In addition to -odd jobs such as
cleaning, and placing shrubs, the bur-
eau has several openings for men
wishing steady work as waiters or
porters. Students interested in get-
ting any sort of work will be given
attention.
