YALE PROFESSOR TO TEACH AT SUMMER BIOLOGICAL STATION Prof. George C. Nichols, of Yale uni- versity, will be a member of the teach- ing staff at the Biological station thin summer. H will have charge of the course in :;plant anatomy, previously given by Prof. B. E. Quick, and two courses in green cryptogams. The University has not offered the courses in cryptogams in any former Summer session and it is expected that they will attract many students. It has been further arranged that those who desire to. follow a course of study of fungi can do work at the station and make reports to Prof. C. H. Kauffman. ELECTION TO EDUCATIONAL CLUB SET AT EARLY DATE New members are to be elected to the girls' honorary Educational society, within the next few weeks. In order to be eligible'to membership, at least an average grade 'of B in educational courses must have been made. Nominations and elections are made by the education faculty. 'The club meets every other Wednes'day night and the meetings are generally ad- dressed by some speakers who are au- thorities on their subjects. FORMWER STUDENTS RECEIVE $71,000 BUILDING CONTRACT The county yesterday awarded the contract for the building of a road from Whittaker to Ypsilanti to Bailey and Atwell, Ann Arbor contractors. The road is. one of the most important in the county and the contract price was $71,000. Messrs. Bailey and At- well, tp whom the contract was award- ed, were formerly students of the eng- ineering college and are a new firm in the city. THIEVES BREAK INTO SUGAR CARS; BOOTY ABANDONED Five cars loaded with sugar, lying on the Ann Arbor Railroad tracks at Summit street, were broken into early Friday morning. The police' were notified, but when they arrived the thieves had gone. Only two barrels of sugar had been taken from the cars and these were left upon the. ground nearby. In the -opinion of the police the thieves were operating with trucks.
