The comedy, "The Wild Women," is the added at- traction. For Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, the management has booked Mary Pickford in "Daddy Long Legs," which is considered the "movie" event of the season. The play was charmingly produced on the stage with Ruth Chatterton in' the leading role and Henry Miller in the titlte role, and is readily adaptable to the screen. The picture is said to be Miss Pickford's best and should be a real treat to the photoplay public. AT THE ARCADE In "The Parisian Tigress," which will be shown today at the Arcade, Viola Dana appears as Jeanne, a child of the gutter, who is compelled by a young Apache to dance for his gains in the eafes of the Parisian Latin quarter. From this life she is sudden- ly transplanted to the luxurious and fastidious home of titled aristocrats, where she rightly belongs. The char- acter of the play has a touch of the sinister which is cleverly lightened by the comedy and romance which come into the life of the girl of the gutter. Pauline Frederick will be shown tomorrow in "One Week of Life." AT THE SHUBERT-GARRICK DETROIT "Grumpy," the play which the Je- sie Bostelle company has chosen to present next week, stands out as a master piece of writing, both as to dialogue and situations. The story opens at, the home of Mr. Buivant, (Grumpy), and a couple of delightful love scenes pave the way for the more serious moments which have to do with the stealing of a diamond and its mysterious recovery. Four acts are required for the telling of the story and though ' each is dominated by Grumpy, the other characters beome an integral and fascinating part of the play. Again Miss Bonstell has scored, for "Grumpky" is much in de- mand and will again be used by Mr. Maude, who created the role, but she has managed to secure the -play from the producers to offer her Detroit friends.
