The course is to consist of 10 les- sons, to include rudiments of stage dancing and aesthetic dancing. They will be such that any one needing a little instruction in ordinary dancoing' will find :hem beneficial. Benefit Girls' Ma'y No women have yet applied for the special classes to be given them with the idea of benefiting the Junior Girls' play. These lessons are to be con- ducted separately, and will include instruction in stage and aesthetic dancing. d, Mortimer Shuter, director of "Come On, Dad" who is personally ac- quainted with Mr. Hoyer, has the following to say of his work, "The se- cret of his success is undoubtedly that he does not overdo his dancing. It is certain whatever the secret may be, that the big audiences that have al- ways witnessed Mr. Hoyer's perform- ances leave the theater with a very healthy appetite for more of Mr. 1-by- er's work. Prison Or Tine Thr Tax Evaders A fine of not more than $10,000 or not more than one year's imprison- ment, or both, together with the cost of prosecution is the penalty for will- fully attempting to evade the tax upon soft drinks, according to an official statement from the bureau of internal revenue. The tax is one cent for each ten cents or fraction thereof on the amount paidat soda fountains, ice cream parlors or similar places of business on soft drinks, ice cream sundaes, or like articles of food or drink when sold for consumption in proximity to such place of business." Sales of soft drinks, ice cream and similar articles of food and drink in hotels, restaurants, cafeterias and club houses are not taxable unless sold separate and apart from the meals. If ice cream or a soft drink is the only refreshment ordered in such, places the tax, applies. Such sales at soda fountains are tax- able even though sold as a part of the meal. Not all beverages are taxed. Those exempt are : H ot beef tea coffee, tea, buttermilk, milk, hot chocolate or cocoa, hot clam bisque, hot tomato bisque, and hot bouillon. Medicinal preperations escape the tax. HOYER WILL TEACH WOMEN DANCING Would-be tt youts for next year's Junior Girls' play will be given a spe- cial opportunity to learn something of stage dancing this spring from Mr. Roy Hoyer, a star in "Jack o' Lantern" and "Chin Chin," who will be in Ann Arbor after May 26. Mr. Hoyer is being brought here by the Michigan -Union for the especial purpose of teaching rudimentary danc- ing to prospective tryouts for the Union Opera next year.
