Leo Shraf- man. A committee consisting of Prof. J. Lawrence Laughlin, University of Chi- cago, chairman; Prof. J. B. Clark, Columbia University; Prof. Henry C. Adams, University of Michigan; Prof. Edwin F. Gay, Harvard University; and Hon. Theodore E. Burton, New York City, is enabled to offer these prizes through the courtesy of the Messrs. Hart, Schaffner and Marx of Chicago. The class A prizes are: first $1,000; second $500. Those in class B are: fiirst $300; second $200. The commit- tee holds the right, however, to award class A prizes to class B men if they consider the papers of sufficient merit. SEAPLANE COVERS 1,250 MILES IN 20-HOUR FLIGHT Washington, April 26. - A naval seaplane attached to the Hampton Roads base has just completed a 20- hour flight in which it covered a dis- tance of 1,250 miles, the navy depart- ment was advised late today by the commandant at Norfolk. This distance is about two-thirds of that which the seaplane must cover on the proposed transatlantic flight from Newfound- land.
