EVOLUTION Dancitig, like everything else, has route up through the ages in vaiots stages of evolution. The first formt of daicing was the trihal dance, done on festal occa- sions saris as aniversaries and vic- tories, hy our primitive forefathers, They were usually performed in a cir- cle surroundiitg a fire or an idol. The Bible tells of the dancing girls who diverted Kings David aid Solo- toot. They were somewhat less fe- rocious in their gyrations, and had the accompaniment of cymals and zith- ers and other musical instruments. Then we had the Greek dancing. The Greek girls danced on the lawins, and wore garlands in their hair. They were real personifications of spring or summer or whatever they chose to represent. There are many other kinds of dancing. Our American Indians have their soit particular style. The Orin- tals have a sonmewhat different kind, if we are to believe the movies. But all isations and peoples have some form of it. The itighiest stage in the evolution of daitcinsg sents to have beein reach- el at present.
